Breif Description of the Program

• 1.Bhadrachalam is immensely popular as one of South India's premier Hindu pilgrimage centers. Located on the banks of the Godavari River in Telangana, it is world-renowned for the historic Sri Sita Ramachandra Swamy Temple. Sri Sita Ramachandra Swamy Temple: This 17th-century architectural marvel was built by Kancharla Gopanna (famously known as Bhakta Ramadasa). The temple is unique because the idol of Lord Rama appears in a rare, handsome posture holding a bow and arrow with Sita by his side. Historic Legacy: The region sits in the Dandakaranya forest, where Lord Rama, Sita, and Lakshmana are believed to have spent part of their 14-year exile.
• Godavari River: The holy river flows right by the town, offering a scenic, tranquil backdrop for spiritual reflection.
• 2. Major Festivals: Bhadrachalam draws massive crowds during two major festivals : Sri Rama Navami (March/April): Millions of devotees visit to witness the spectacular Sri Sitarama Thirukalyana Mahotsavam (the divine wedding of Lord Rama and Goddess Sita). Vaikuntha Ekadashi (December/January): Devotees flock to the temple to pass through the Vaikuntha Dwaram (the northern gate of the temple).
• 3. Tourist Spots Nearby: Papikondalu Hills: Located across the Godavari River, this scenic area is highly popular for steamboat rides, waterfalls, and nature getaways. Parnashala: Situated about 35 km away, this is a highly revered location featuring the exact spot where Sita is believed to have been abducted by Ravana.

• The most common and scenic way to arrive by water is taking an upstream River Godavari cruise from Rajahmundry , which switches to a 1–2 hour road transfer to Bhadrachalam at the end. Papikondalu (Papi Hills) is a breathtaking hill range in Andhra Pradesh famous for its winding gorges along the Godavari River. Named for its resemblance to the middle partition of a woman's hair, the region is celebrated for scenic boat cruises, bamboo hut camping, and pristine, untouched.
• Maredumilli is a premier eco-tourism hotspot nestled in the Eastern Ghats of Andhra Pradesh. Famous for its lush semi-evergreen forests, cascading waterfalls, and rich biodiversity, it serves as an ideal retreat for nature lovers, adventure seekers, and those eager to experience unique indigenous tribal culture.
• WHO CAN PARTICIPATE Any member of the Association who is physically fit can join the program.
• HOW TO REACH THE BASE CAMP: Rajahmundry is the reporting place. (exact location of Base camp will be communicated). Rajahmundry has got connectivity by Bus, Rail and Air from different places.

• SAFETY & SECURITY: Extensive and pain taking preparation has gone into the planning of the Trek route. Our experienced field staff and camp leaders have been visiting the area to check all the details. ACOMMODATION FACILITIES: Shared Accommodation as provided by the Organisers.

Fee includes: Good Vegetarian Food, Accommodation (Sharing basis ), Expert Guidance, Group Insurance, Supervision, Bus Fare, Parking Fees.

Fee Excludes : Entry Tickets/ Fees for all Tourism spots

Cancellation Method

• Participants booked online must cancel online a minimum of 05 days prior to the reporting date.
• Participants booked offline must email trekking@yhaindia.org a minimum of 05 days prior to the reporting date.
• Requests received less than 05 days before the reporting date are not eligible for credit shell or refund.

Credit Shell

• 100% credit shell of the participation fee, valid till 31st December 2026, usable on any YHAI adventure programme.
• If the next programme is cheaper, the balance can be used on another trek; if costlier, pay the difference.
• Seats may be transferred to family or friends (transferred seats cannot be re-transferred or cancelled).

Refund

• Alternatively, participants may opt for a 50% refund instead of the 100% credit shell, subject to the same notice conditions.

Note: If a programme is cancelled due to natural calamity, government restriction or withdrawal of permission, YHAI is accountable only for the programme fee and not for other expenses incurred by participants.
