BREIF DESCRIPTION OF THE PROGRAM: One of world’s most spectacular tropical island systems, Lakshadweep is tucked away at 220-440Kms off the Kerala Coast. The islands offer a precious heritage of ecology and culture. The unique feature of the Islands is its coral reef, making it a pristine leisure spot to come back to. 4200 sq. kms. of lagoon, rich in marine wealth, is spread over 36 islands in an area of 32 sq. kms. The underwater view at Lakshadweep is kaleidoscopic and breathtaking. The lagoon offers excellent potential for water sports like swimming, wind-surfing, diving, snorkeling and kayaking. No wonder, Lakshadweep is fast becoming India’s one of its kind Adventure sport – Nature Tourism location. Each island is fringed by snow white coral sands. The crystal clear water and the abundant marine life enhance the beauty of these islands. Against the vast expanse of the blue sea, the island look like emeralds. The huge shallow calm lagoon on one side with wall like reef made of marine live coral boulders blocks the incoming swells of the outer sea. How to Reach the Base Camp

• Air: The nearest airport is Agatti Island Airport (Advance Purchase of Air ticket is better. Regular Rate from Cochin to Agatti and Back Cochin is in between Rs 11000/- to 16000/- (Advance Reserve through any “Star Airline (From Cochin) or Fly 91 (From Goa) is essential for low rate booking. )

• The weather in Lakshadweep in October is ideal for all types of travelers. The clear skies and calm sea offer a picturesque and serene atmosphere, making it a popular destination during this month.

• Our field volunteers and camp leaders have been visited the area and check the details. While every care has been taken to ensure safety, Youth Hostels Association of India cannot be held responsible for any accident, illness and such other unforeseen eventualities

Additional Notes

• Use of alcohol and narcotics of any description and smoking are strictly prohibited during the programme. Deviation from the set rout of the programme is not permitted. If participants desire to join any other activity, they may do so at their own responsibility and risk only after finishing the programme and check out.

WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?

Any YHAI member above the age of 15 years can participate on first cum first serve basis.

Cancellation Method

• Participants booked online must cancel online a minimum of 05 days prior to the reporting date.
• Participants booked offline must email trekking@yhaindia.org a minimum of 05 days prior to the reporting date.
• Requests received less than 05 days before the reporting date are not eligible for credit shell or refund.

Credit Shell

• 100% credit shell of the participation fee, valid till 31st December 2026, usable on any YHAI adventure programme.
• If the next programme is cheaper, the balance can be used on another trek; if costlier, pay the difference.
• Seats may be transferred to family or friends (transferred seats cannot be re-transferred or cancelled).

Refund

• Alternatively, participants may opt for a 50% refund instead of the 100% credit shell, subject to the same notice conditions.

Note: If a programme is cancelled due to natural calamity, government restriction or withdrawal of permission, YHAI is accountable only for the programme fee and not for other expenses incurred by participants.
