Breif Description of the Program

• Hidden deep within the forested expanse of the Mhadei Wildlife Sanctuary in Sattari, North Goa, these waterfalls offer an unforgettable escape into nature. Set in the heart of Goa’s Western Ghats-one of India’s richest biodiversity hotspots-the region promises thrilling experiences for adventure enthusiasts and soulful moments for nature lovers.
• Moshacho Ozar at Hivre village (Thane Dongurli Panchayat) rewards visitors with sweeping panoramic views of the Mhadei landscape, especially enchanting during the monsoon. The twin waterfalls of Pali mesmerize with their powerful cascades cutting through lush green forests. Shelop–Budruk stands out with four distinct waterfalls, each revealing a unique flow, culminating in a spectacular final plunge that leaves visitors in awe.
• Though modest in size, the waterfalls of Charvane offer a calming and rejuvenating experience, highlighting the tranquil and pristine beauty of Goa’s hinterland.

• WHO CAN PARTICIPATE? Any member of the Association who is physically fit can join the programme. Medical Certificate is a must.
• HOW TO REACH THE BASE CAMP: The base camp is located at THANE –DONGURLI PANCHAYAT BUILDING, SATERI WADA, DONGURLI, GOA 403505. The nearest railway stations are Thivim , Karmali and Margao. State bus service is available. Direct bus service to Panaji is also available from Mumbai, Pune, Bangalore & Mangalore. Direct trains are available from Delhi, Mumbai, Ahmedabad and major cities of India. Two Airports Gox (MOPA) & Goi ( Dabolim) are available in Goa. • Special Bus has been arranged to reach Base Camp from Panaji Transit camp situated at Youth Hostel, Miramar, (https://maps.app.goo.gl/qnJq6ZrBGm7yiuL28 ) Panaji, Goa at 14.00 hrs. Should you miss this bus , you can reach the base camp by taking bus to Valpoi from Panaji and then onwards to Thane Dongurli Stadium. Kindly note that Panaji Transit camp is only a Transit camp and no lunch/food will be provided in Transit Camp.
• HOW TO JOIN: YHAI Members desirous of joining the programme may register online or apply on a prescribed Registration Form ( https://yhaindia.org/download ) to Goa State Branch Photocopies of the forms are acceptable. The minimum age for participation is 10. Form should be sent along with draft/ at par payable cheque in favour of National Trekking Expedition – Goa at C/o Joshi Wines, Opp Old Secretariat, Panaji, Goa 403001.
• ACCOMMODATION FACILITIES: accommodation at Panchayat Building Hall
• FOOD & WATER SUPPLIES: Delicious Veg & NON- VEG Goan food.
• WHAT PARTICIPANTS SHOULD BRING ALONG: Dry fit T-shirts & Pants, Good Grip shoes and Bathroom slippers, torch, water bottle, lunch box, soap, towel, medicines (which you normally use at home) Raincoat ( if one wishes to use it).
• Plate, Coffee mug, spoon and bowl will be provided at camp. Mattress, Bedsheet and pillow will also be provided at Camp.
• Blanket and small shoulder back pack (Participants will not carry anything other than lunch box and water bottle during treks) will be given at the camp.
• Documents Required at Reporting
• 1. YHAI Membership (You can also apply for membership at the Base Camp in Goa).
• 2. Admit Card (post-registration).
• 3. Original Medical Certificate
• 4. One Passport-size photograph and valid ID proof.

Mandatory

• The Trekking Medical Certificate will be compulsory at the time of reporting only. It must be issued within 30 days of the program start date and duly signed by a registered Medical Practitioner (MBBS/MD only), along with their registration number and stamp. Participants must be physically fit and bring all the required documents for base camp check-in.

For Government Employees

• The program is approved for Special Casual Leave by the Government of India (DoPT).

SAFETY & SECURITY: Extensive and painstaking preparation has gone into the planning of trek routes for your safety. Our field staff and experienced camp leaders have been visiting the area to check all details. The Youth Hostels Association of India cannot be held responsible for any accidents, illness and any such unforeseen eventualities. Deviation from the set route of the program is not permitted. If the participant desires to join any other activity, they may do so at their own responsibility and risk only after finishing the trek and checking out. YHAI group insurance cover is for accidental death or permanent disability only. You are advised to take insurance cover for your journey and other related matters.

Cancellation Method

• Participants booked online must cancel online a minimum of 05 days prior to the reporting date.
• Participants booked offline must email trekking@yhaindia.org a minimum of 05 days prior to the reporting date.
• Requests received less than 05 days before the reporting date are not eligible for credit shell or refund.

Credit Shell

• 100% credit shell of the participation fee, valid till 31st December 2026, usable on any YHAI adventure programme.
• If the next programme is cheaper, the balance can be used on another trek; if costlier, pay the difference.
• Seats may be transferred to family or friends (transferred seats cannot be re-transferred or cancelled).

Refund

• Alternatively, participants may opt for a 50% refund instead of the 100% credit shell, subject to the same notice conditions.

Note: If a programme is cancelled due to natural calamity, government restriction or withdrawal of permission, YHAI is accountable only for the programme fee and not for other expenses incurred by participants.
