Leh-Ladakh Adventure Program (9 Days)

Day 1: Arrival & Acclimatization

Arrive in Leh (11,500 ft) by morning

Rest the entire day to adjust to high altitude

Day 2: Leh Local Sightseeing (Srinagar Route)

Hall of Fame - Army museum

Spituk Monastery - Ancient Buddhist site

Magnetic Hill - Gravity-defying phenomenon

Sangam - Confluence of Indus & Zanskar Rivers

Shanti Stupa - Panoramic city views

Leh Palace - 17th-century royal home

Explore Leh Market

Day 3: Leh ➡️ Nubra Valley via Khardung La (18,200 ft)

Drive via Khardung La , world's 2nd highest motorable pass

Visit Hunder Sand Dunes - Optional 🐫 camel rides

Overnight in Hunder

Day 4: Turtuk Day Trip

Visit Turtuk Village near the Indo-Pak border

Return to Hunder for overnight stay

Day 5: Nubra ➡️ Pangong via Shyok River

Reach Pangong Tso - Iconic turquoise lake

Overnight stay in Tangtse

Day 6: Tangtse ➡️ Leh via Monasteries

YHAI offers Group Insurance for accidental death or permanent disability only. Personal insurance for travel and health is strongly recommended . While we prioritize your safety with experienced leaders and detailed planning, YHAI is not liable for accidents, illness, or other unforeseen events.

How to Reach Leh Base Camp

By Bus

  • Route 1 : Srinagar → Sonmarg → Zozila Pass → Kargil → Leh (434 km)
  • Route 2 : Manali → Keylong → Baralacha → Tanglangla → Upsi → Leh (474 km) Bus services by HRTC, J&K SRTC, and Himachal Tourism with overnight halts.

By Air

  • Flights available daily from Delhi, Jammu, Srinagar to Leh .

By Train

  • Nearest stations: Jammu , Pathankot , Chandigarh (Require 2-3 days road journey to Leh)

Mobile Connectivity

  • Only postpaid services (Airtel, BSNL) work in the Leh-Ladakh region. Prepaid SIMs are not valid .
  • Note : Routes and schedule may change based on weather or local conditions .
  • What to Bring

  • Important Participant Guidelines
  • Stick to the schedule - Deviations are not allowed during the program.
  • Stay inside YHAI camps only for the entire duration.
  • Eco-friendly camp - No littering. Use designated bins.
  • No campfires using wood. Avoid non-biodegradable items (as per J&K rules).
  • Previous-day reporting is allowed (paid option).
  • Risk Advisory
  • This is a high-risk adventure with challenging motorbiking on Himalayan passes .

Risks may include

  • High altitude sickness (Pulmonary Oedema)
  • Stress/exhaustion from tough drives
  • Falls or injuries (minor to serious)
  • Other unforeseen circumstances YHAI will assist but is not liable for injury, disability, or death.

Cancellation Policy

Online Bookings

  • Participants who have booked online must cancel their booking online through the website at least 5 days before the reporting date.

Offline Bookings

  • Participants who have booked offline must send a cancellation request by email to trekking@yhaindia.org at least 5 days before the reporting date.

Eligibility for Cancellation

  • Only cancellations made within the above timeline are eligible for a credit shell or refund.
  • Cancellation requests received less than 5 days before the reporting date will not be entertained and are not eligible for a credit shell or refund.

Refund

  • Participants opting for a refund will get 50% of the paid program fee.
  • The refund is processed only after completion of the program.

Credit Shell

  • Participants opting for a credit shell receive 100% of the paid participation fee as credit, valid until 31 December 2027.
  • The credit shell may be used for any program organised by the YHAI National Office, or by YHAI State Branches and Units that operate a credit shell policy on their programs.
  • The credit shell can only be used against treks and programs. It cannot be adjusted against membership fees or hostel bookings.

Adjustment of Credit Shell

  • If the new program costs less than the available credit, the balance may be used for another eligible trek or program until 31 December 2027.
  • If the new program costs more, the difference must be paid by the participant.

No Further Cancellation

  • A program booked using a credit shell cannot be cancelled, or converted into another credit shell or refund, under any circumstances.

Transfer of Seats

  • A confirmed seat may be transferred to a family member or friend. Once transferred, the seat cannot be transferred again or cancelled.
